Prayer is a communication with God  

There are different types of prayer: worship, repentance, battle as well as the intercessory prayer.
The intercessory prayer is an intercession to God on behalf of the needs of people or nations. It is a demonstration of an unbiased love. This type of prayer shows not only the caring heart of believers, but also is an act of obedience to God.

“Therefore I exhort you, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men” 1 Timothy 2:1

“Do not care for anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanks giving let your requests be made known unto God”  Phil. 4:6
